Privacy policy

Membrain Infrasolutions Private Limited (“Membrain”, “we”) runs membrainapp.com. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Your account: name, email address and phone number. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
- Your building: address, house or flat number, PIN code and the location you pick on the map.
- Your problem: photos, descriptions, answers to our questions, contractor quotes and documents you upload.
- Payments: the amount, status and payment reference. Razorpay handles the payment itself; we do not see or store your full card, UPI or bank details.
- Messages and feedback you send us.
- Technical information: basic device, browser and log details our hosting providers record to keep the service secure and working.
How we use it
- To prepare waterproofing guidance for your building and show it to you.
- To send you updates by WhatsApp or email about your requests.
- To arrange site visits and paid services you ask for, and to take payments.
- To answer support questions, prevent misuse and improve Membrain.
How we use AI
Your photos and descriptions are sent to OpenAI so our AI can identify the likely problem. Every repair method we suggest comes from manufacturer-approved systems, not invented by the AI. Guidance prepared from photos is remote advice, not a site inspection. Under OpenAI's business terms, this data is not used to train their models.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the services below, and only as much as each needs to do its job:
- Supabase
- Stores your account, buildings, photos and requests (Mumbai, India)
- Vercel
- Runs the website and app (Mumbai, India)
- OpenAI
- Reads your photos and descriptions to prepare repair guidance
- Razorpay
- Processes payments
- Interakt
- Sends WhatsApp messages about your requests
- Lets you sign in with your Google account, if you choose to
- OpenStreetMap and India Post
- Turn the map location and PIN code you give into an address
We share your repair guidance with a contractor only if you choose to send it. We may also share information where the law requires it.
Where your data is stored
Your account and building data are stored in Mumbai, India. Some of the services above, such as OpenAI and Google, may process data outside India.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies: ones that keep you signed in, and one that remembers you have seen our cookie notice (kept for one year). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active. If you ask us to delete it, we delete or anonymise it, except records we must keep by law, such as payment and tax records.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, or withdraw your consent, by emailing support@membrainapp.in. Withdrawing consent may mean we can no longer provide some services.
Children
Membrain is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

If you have a concern about how your data is handled, contact our Grievance Officer: Zeel Desai, support@membrainapp.in. We aim to respond within 15 days.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
